Graduation Day

On the upside, I don't have this hair that I had at my 8th grade graduation.

Up early on a Saturday morning, just checking my Facebook and Twitter feeds. Oh, today is graduation day at St. Joseph's University. I was supposed to graduate today. And I'm sad that I'm not. Guys, I'm almost crying! I have worked so hard since 2009, and the plan was to graduate in 2012 and to have my parents buy me a green Camaro as a graduation/40th birthday present. (I think they thought I was kidding about the Camaro, but I wasn't).

But instead of graduating today, (and it's a beauty of a day for a graduation) I'm sitting here all melancholy. Instead of graduating today, I got to spend a 10 days in Europe with my family. Instead of graduating today, I've been able to experience the generosity of friends and strangers. Instead of graduating today, I haven't worked since August. So I guess there is an upside.

But I'm still pretty bummed.
